The life and lesson of Marcus Garvey is a excellent book. Mr. Garvey was a genious before his time, not a racist but a man who wanted equal opportunity for his people. In this book Mr. Garvey guides us through life lessons with spiritual insight and cunning details of how to conduct yourself in business and in personal life. He was Malcolm X before Malcolm X, he was Martin Luther King before Martin Luther King. He had a vision,a plan, and a will to succeed by any means necessary. This book is sure to broaden your intelluct and make you a better overall person!!!!

Something for Everyone

This text makes good use of the entire Garvey Papers collection and lifts what are the central points from that voluminous work with an ease that can only be done by those who are well versed.
Garvey was not the first to deal with African repatriation,business,organization and pride but he was the most successful at building a mass movement. His movement comprised of many talented and well versed individuals some of who laid the foundation on which Garvey would grow some two decades later.
Garvey's genius is found not in his views but in his timely manner of execution. He should be remembered as one of our great messengers brought forth from days of old, reminding us that we have a home,heritage and culture that is comparable to any people in the entire world.
This text illuminates that side of a man who came from a little island named Jamaica and shook the entire world with one phrase, one flag, one organization, one vision, one destiny and one aim!!!

This was the best book I bought all year. I learned a lot from this writings. He was an aggressive visionary for the African Diaspora. Some of it is outdated but majority of this book is able shedding the stigma of slavery. I have never read and re-read a book so fast and so many times.
