About the Author
Victoria E. McMillan (PhD, Syracuse University) taught in the interdisciplinary writing department, the biology department, and the women's studies program at Colgate University. A behavioral ecologist who has published a number of scholarly and popular articles on animal behavior, McMillan is currently focusing her research activities on reproductive strategies in insects, dragonflies in particular.

This is a great book for anyone who needs to do scientific writing--whether biology majors or not--because the principles here apply to a wide range of subjecs. It covers everything from lab reports to review articles, journal articles, CVs, presentation letters, and presentations. I teach science writing, and I find this to be an excellent resource. It also includes some very useful checklists!

It's a great text and actually super helpful

It's a great text and actually super helpful. I had to buy it for my ecology lab but as a science major I'm sure I'll be referring back to it in the future. My only complaint is that for whatever reason pages 115-146 are upside down and backwards and it is a giant pain to find these pages and try to read them when half a chapter is in one part of the book and the other half is somewhere else.
