Good Resource!

Love these short passages that are accompanied by teaching points which include both skills and strategies. Passages and follow-up questions are challenging, and just right to use for 3rd grade instruction. This gives me the opportunity to model my thinking on a short piece daily and has become an integral part of my reading program.

These daily activities have a very similar form to the workbooks of other grades. Because of this I am able to use them as differentiated warm-ups so that my below-level students are still getting work with similar skills during the first few minutes of class and my students won't be sensitive to the different material.

Some of the skills developed and some of the kinds of questions here are a little out of date and modern students will often have laughable answers to some of them. (For instance, the answer to any question that asks "What reference source would you look in to find..." is always answered with "The internet" in my class).

Still, these are a reasonably valuable, standardized tool.

Although this book might have value as a psychological study of a habitual criminal or may generate interest because of the recent movie The Krays , it is strictly for libraries with large true crime sections.

Reg makes his peace

As an American, I found this book of great value. For an outsider, the Eastend's fabled lore is brought to light. Reg Kray (for his notorious history) writes like a true author. Many of the Kray twins' activities are finally documented in the first person and with wonderful description. Definitely a good read, if you are interested in the glamour of London in the 60's and the Krays in particular.

I have read many books of this type before, but this one has been the best. It uses quotes from many close friends and family of the Krays. It goes to great depth of many events in the young lives of the Krays. Book was good but there was a lot of spelling mistakes they really needed to use spell check. Enjoyed the plot line and the characters. I love hall Jana Leigh's books I have read.

I read all of the Denver Pack Series and some were great while others were just more of the same. This is a continuation of that series and includes the shifters and humans which makes it easy to follow. One of my biggest problems with some of the other books was really bad grammar, spelling and in one book there were several pages which were just blank spots. I am only telling you this because this one was so much better in that aspect. I really liked Cat's Choice. It was slightly different with the new human and one of her mates was a surprise. All of that made it enjoyable and still fun. As always in this series, the sex was great and it has a good story. I am going to get the second one now and hope it's as good. What I really did enjoy was all the different types of shifters in the entire series.
